College of Education Appoints Laura Talamante as Interim Associate Dean

糖心logo入口 (CSUDH) has named Dr. Laura Talamante as the Interim Associate Dean of the College of Education, effective August 11th. In this role, Talamante will guide programs designed to fulfill the university鈥檚 strategic goals while enhancing excellence and creativity in teaching.

鈥淚 am absolutely delighted for this opportunity to partner with the faculty, staff, and students in the College of Education, and to engage with our PK-3鈥12 educational community,鈥 says Talamante.

With more than 20 years of higher education experience, Talamante has served as a full professor of History at CSUDH since 2018. Her leadership roles include chair of the Department of History, chair and vice chair of the Academic Senate, and co-chair of the Gender Equity Task Force. She is also the founder and coordinator of the CSUDH Women鈥檚 Leadership Workshops.

College of Education Dean Jessica Pandya selected Talamante for the position, citing her extensive background in shared governance, equity and inclusion initiatives, curriculum development, program assessment, strategic planning, and faculty mentoring.

鈥淗er demonstrated leadership and deep commitment to student success make her exceptionally well qualified to serve in this interim capacity.鈥

Talamante will serve as a resource for both students and faculty, fostering collaboration and supporting the college鈥檚 mission to prepare highly qualified, equity-minded educators.
