Every great educator has a story, a purpose, and a community that helps them succeed. On October 10, the College of Education at 糖心logo入口 (CSUDH) brought that community together at the Innovation and Instruction building for its annual scholarship reception, honoring student scholars and the people who help make their educational journeys possible.

Led by Dr. Jessica Zacher Pandya, Dean of the College of Education, and Dr. Esther Nam-Huh, Associate Professor of Liberal Studies, the reception celebrated students鈥 hard work and the generosity of more than 35 donors who believe in the power of education to transform lives.

鈥淓very scholarship represents more than financial support. It represents belief in our students and their potential. When we invest in their dreams, we help create opportunities that extend far beyond our campus and into the classrooms and communities they will serve.鈥

For donors, giving is about more than funding a scholarship. It is about paying it forward and extending the same kind of support, encouragement, and opportunity that can change the direction of someone鈥檚 life.

鈥淜eep going, it鈥檚 what鈥檚 on the inside that counts.鈥

The message captured the heart of the celebration: perseverance, character, and the importance of believing in yourself, even when the journey to becoming an educator gets challenging. Through their generosity, donors are helping students continue their studies, pursue teaching, counseling, and administrative credentials, and turn their aspirations into meaningful careers.

鈥淒efine your 鈥榳hy鈥 and purpose. The field of education requires individuals who are truly passionate about teaching the future leaders of the next generation.鈥

Families gathered alongside scholarship recipients, sharing moments of pride, joy, and accomplishment as students were recognized for their dedication. Their presence underscored the importance of a strong support system throughout the educational journey.
From endowed scholarships to credentialing assistance, the College of Education鈥檚 scholarships help ease financial barriers and give students more opportunities to focus on their academic and professional goals.

Through the generosity of its donors, the College of Education continues to strengthen its commitment to student success and the K鈥16 education workforce. The impact of their generosity will reach far beyond the reception, finding its way into classrooms, schools, and communities.
At the College of Education, paying it forward means investing in students, believing in their potential, and creating opportunities for the next generation to do the same.

The upcoming scholarship application period will be from December, 2026 to February 19, 2027.
