California Education Code requires that all candidates for a teaching credential must demonstrate they are proficient in the subject matter area of their intended credential
Current students: Subject matter evaluations will be conducted by CSUDH College of Education faculty during the application review process. You will be notified of your status with meeting the subject matter requirement with your acceptance into the program. If the evaluation shows that you have not met the subject matte requirement, subsequent steps for meeting it will be provided to you with your acceptance letter. If you are an admitted or currently enrolled student and have questions about meeting the subject matter requirement, please contact us at (310)243-2276.
Prospective students: Unfortunately, we are unable to conduct coursework evaluations for prospective students.聽 Please register for an upcoming information session to find out about our programs and meeting the subject matter requirement. For your reference, here is an example of CSUDH courses that meet the subject matter requirement for the multiple subject credential and equivalent courses at local community colleges in the South Bay.
