CSUDH is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for learning, working, and living. Students are responsible for following the , established in Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 41301, as well as applicable university policies. The student conduct process promotes accountability, protects student rights, and supports the educational mission of the university.

The student conduct process, sometimes called the disciplinary process, is used to address alleged violations of the CSU Standards for Student Conduct. The establishes the procedures for addressing these matters. Students participating in the process receive notice of the alleged violations and an opportunity to respond. Matters may be resolved through a resolution agreement when appropriate. If a matter cannot be resolved through an agreement, it may proceed to a formal hearing consistent with the CSU Student Conduct Process. Submitting a report does not establish that a student violated university policy.

The Office of Community Standards reviews each report and determines the appropriate response based on the available information. Allegations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking may be addressed under the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy and its applicable student respondent procedures.
