General Overview

What is Global Logistics?

Global logistics is the art and science of planning, executing, and controlling the flow of materials, information, and financial activities from the point of origin, across one or more international borders, to the final destination. As a comprehensive system that streamlines the movement of goods in the global marketplace, it plays a critical role in today’s interconnected economy.

Will I learn practical skills I can use at my current business?Will I learn about current trends in global logistics?

Yes. The program covers how tariffs and related trade regulations influence globallogisticsoperations, including their effects on costs, routing, and international supply chain decisions.

Do I need a degree to participate in this program?

No... the program is open to all learners who have an interest in the global logistics field.

Do I need to be admitted to the University before registering for a course? Is there an application process?

There is no application process for the program. Students do not need to be admitted to CSUDH to attend this program.

How long does it take to complete the certificate?

The entire certificate program of six courses can be completed in less than four months.

Taking Courses

How do I register?

To register, use the shopping cart in thecourse schedule.

When are the courses offered?

Courses are scheduled for the benefit of working adults and are held evenings and weekends. Courses are usually offered 2 times a year. The schedule is usually updated about 4 months prior to a course start, so you should start seeing the Summer and Fall populating in January.

Are there any prerequisites?

There are no prerequisites to start taking Global Logistics courses.

Do I need to take the courses in a particular order?

Coursescan be taken in any order. However, for maximum benefit and engagement with the course material, it is recommended that courses are taken in sequential order.

Is there homework and/or a final project?

All course work (reviewing case studies, discussion questions, etc.) is completed in class or offline; there are no homework or final project requirements.

Where are the classes held?

All classes are held online via Zoom. Each course's Meeting ID is provided inside the Canvas course and in the course Announcements section.

Do you offer financial assistance?

  • Financial aid is only available for programs that result in a degree.
  • Students may qualify for WIOA funding.This program isthrough the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The majority of funding is budgeted toward adult and dislocated workers whose current job skills are out of date or will be soon; this is generally allocated for Adult, Dislocated Worker, Older Youth and Younger Youth categories. Clients seek training to update current skills or learn skills for a new career if their occupation is not in demand.

  • Students may qualify for a private student loanthrough various sources. For more information, search online for "private student loan providers" to explore your options and review specific lender details.

Post-Completion

I completed the certificate program. How do I obtain my certificate and digital badges?

Once you have completed all the courses in the certificate program, you will need to apply to receive the certificate. Please allow 4-6 weeks after you’ve put in your request for processing. If you have any additional questions/issues, please contacteecertificate@csudh.edu.

You will also be able to see and share your earned digital badges once the final grades from all required course(s) have been submitted and you have applied for your certificate. There are several ways to view, check the status of, and/or share your digital credentials! Once you have successfully completed all required courses, you can claim your certificate badges by signing into to create an account using your CSUDH Toromail address. CCPE Registration & Additional Information

The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins (or as indicated on the schedule); course schedules are updated daily.

If a course in which you are interested is no longer displaying in the course schedule, please be aware that its registration deadline may have already passed, or the course may have already reached capacity. Review the schedule for alternate dates, or sign up for Program Updates to be notified of upcoming classes.

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING!

New CCPE Students

  • If you are a new to CSUDH and have never taken a course through CSUDH Continuing Education, simply select the course you want to take, click on the Cart icon to register, input your personal information, and pay for your class(es).

Current CCPE Students

  • If you are an existing CSUDH Continuing Education student who has been active in the past 6 months,you will use your regular CSUDH login information.
  • If you are an existing CSUDH Continuing Education student who has been active within the past 2 years, but who has not been active in the past 6 months, you will need to reset your password by visiting.

All Other CCPE Students

  • If you are a past CSUDH Continuing Education student who has NOT been active within the past 2 years,please register for your first (returning) course as though you are new student.
  • If you are an existing CSUDH Continuing Education student who has forgotten your username, student ID number, and/or Toromail address, please call the CCPE Registration Office at 310-243-3741 (Option 1) during Office Hours to retrieve this information.

⚠ Current Admitted CSUDH (Non-Continuing Ed) Students

  • If you are a currently-enrolled undergraduate or graduate CSUDH student who wishes to take a CSUDH Continuing Education course for the first time, please call our CCPE Registration Office at 310-243-3741 (Option 1) during Office Hours to get registered.
  • Please note that CCPE courses cannot be registered through MyCSUDH.

When you're ready to register, select the "Add" button to the left of your desired course(s), and then select the "Cart" to begin the Checkout process.

If the course you want to register for has a prerequisite, after selecting "Checkout & Pay", you must Log In using your CSUDH campus credentials so that the system can verify that you have completed the required prerequisite course.

Have other questions?

  • Visit our Registration page for further instructions regarding the checkout process.
  • To drop a course and receive a refund, please login to , click on "Course History", and drop the course. You will receive a refund within 10 days (depending on your financial institution). If you would like to switch courses or course sections, you must first drop the course, and then enroll in your preferred course.
