Online Course Instruction

The program is delivered fully online in an asynchronous format, with no on-campus attendance required. Students are not required to log in at designated times and may complete their weekly coursework around their schedules.

Each week, instructors lead an optional live online session covering that week鈥檚 course content. Students may attend these live sessions on the day/time listed in the program schedule, or access the recording through Canvas at a time convenient for them. Corresponding assignments are also posted in Canvas with established due dates.

While the program offers flexibility, it is not self-paced and requires active participation.

Students will receive instructions as to how to establish their campus login credentials approximately 2鈥�3 days after registering for a course. These credentials will enable students to login to CSUDH's Canvas learning management system and the MyCSUDH student portal.听If you did not receive login information shortly after having registered, please contact the CCPE Registration Office at 310-243-3741 (Option 1).

Course Descriptions

Supply Chain Fundamentals Program

Courses are offered via the Internet three trimesters each year. Courses start in January, April, and September. Each course is 13 weeks in length.

Please note that more course offerings may be available in the future. Spring courses are posted in early October, Summer courses are posted in February, and Fall courses are posted in early March.

The Supply Chain Management Certificate must be completed within 3 years of taking your first class in the program.

PIX 351 | Supply Chain Fundamentals (3 Ext. Units)

Supply chain management covers the flow of materials from the supplier to the manufacturer through a structured system, which includes planning, forecasting, purchasing, manufacturing, procuring, and storing of materials. This course introduces students to all aspects of the supply chain.

PIX 355 | Supply Chain Operations (3 Ext. Units)

Course Prerequisite: PIX 351 Supply Chain Fundamentals
Supply Chain Operations examines the techniques for scheduling and controlling the manufacturing process. Process activities studied include prioritizing work processes, executing production orders and reporting results. Techniques and tools for assessing process performance and recognizing opportunities for improvement are demonstrated.

Internal and external risk assessment applies to companies, both product and service-related. This class examines the application of risk management tools and techniques for identifying, evaluating, and managing risk related to product and service operations processes.

Negotiation is a formal process where people engage in activities to create something new or resolve problems. The skills and techniques required for this process to be effective for both parties are the focus of this class.

The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins; please check the Course Schedule for the program to ensure that you can enroll on time.
