This instructor-led live-online Construction Project Management Certificate program is designed for individuals entering the construction profession as well as those already working in the field who want to advance. It provides practical knowledge and career-focused preparation that benefits newcomers and experienced professionals alike, including those with a four-year degree and those without.
The curriculum in this eight (8) course certificate program covers plan reading, cost estimating, budgeting, financing, bidding, scheduling, construction law, and foundational construction safety, including core concepts in incident and crisis management. Students also gain experience with essential concepts in logistics and project planning, with collaboration and peer review integrated throughout to reflect real construction environments. In addition, participants develop industry-ready management skills in team building, project leadership, ethical decision-making, and professional communication through presentations and public speaking.
The program concludes with a capstone project in which participants work in teams to respond to a Mock Request for Proposals (RFP) by developing a full proposal including a narrative, bid, and schedule, and presenting it to industry experts. This culminating experience brings together the skills developed throughout the program and helps participants build the confidence and preparation needed to take on greater responsibility and advance in a field known for strong earning potential and diverse career opportunities.
