
Trustee Wenda Fong & Mr. Daniel Fetterly Staff Award
We are excited that nominations are now open for the Trustee Wenda Fong and Mr. Daniel Fetterly Staff Award.
For the first time in CSU history, staff will be honored through a Board-level recognition program celebrating innovation, equity-driven leadership, and dedication to student success.
Submission deadline: January 31, 2026.
About the Program:
Made possible through the generosity of Trustee Wenda Fong and Mr. Daniel Fetterly, this program includes:
- Three individual awards of $25,000 each
- One team award of $25,000 shared equally among up to five members
Award Categories
Nominations may be submitted in one of the following categories:
- Affordability Advocate and Driver 鈥媜f Transformative Change
- This award honors an individual whose efforts have a profound impact on making a CSU education affordable and accessible.
- Fostering an Inclusive and Equitable Learning Environment
- This award honors an individual that has dedicated themselves to student success while promoting equity and inclusion within the university community.
- First Generation Belonging and Community
- This award honors an individual who excels in fostering a sense of belonging and builds a supportive campus community for first generation students.
- Trailblazing Team
- This award honors a team of no more than five individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in the service of students and the mission of the CSU.
Nominee Must:
- Be current CSU staff members in good standing, this includes state, auxiliary, Confidential, and MPP employees.
- Demonstrate achievements occurring after January 1, 2025.
- Exhibit qualities aligned with the award criteria: innovation, equity-driven leadership and commitment to student success.
Recognition
Award recipients will be honored at the May 2026 CSU Board of Trustees meeting.
Nomination Process
- Each nomination must include all requested information, including a detailed letter that clearly demonstrates how the nominee meets the award criteria. Using specific examples, describe how the employee has demonstrated outstanding service in the respective award categories for which they are being nominated. The letter may include letters of support, campus news articles, and other relevant documentation. Submit your nomination using the form below:聽
- The review committee will evaluate all nominations and advance no more than two nominations per award category for consideration by the President and final submission to the Chancellor鈥檚 Office.
